What a difference a few months can make. A mere 137 days after our 2 P milestone, TPR-SOB has just past 4 P. While we were in 2nd place overall at 2 P, we are now back in first with a lead of over 700 T. A fantastic effort by all concerned !! We are now in the planning stages for a new gauntlet to push our production even further, you can check out the details in the <a href=http://episteme.arstechnica.com/eve/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=50009562&f=122097561&m=309008466631> [TPR-SOB] Probable Halloween Gauntlet Redux.
Also, for those unaware, the SOB team has released a new client optimised for P4 and, to a lessor extend, AMD64 cpu's. You can find the details and the client <a href=http://www.free-dc.org/forum/showthread.php?s=524f6d1e3e88cf58e0b2f9583f084fa6&threadid=7599> here This is a must upgrade for those with P4's and AMD64's, there have been no reported problems and the increase in performance can be as much as 100% !! Treat yourself to an upgrade in performance, without the hassle, today !!

TPR SoB is #1 at long last!! Despite being passed by a merger of #2 and #3 , and with no small effort from many former TVM members, we rallied and after out producing them 2:1 for more than two months we have rolled on past. Though Team Anandtech gave a valient effort (props to you guys for building such a lead) they only managed to delay the inevitable.
Now we need to keep it up once this gauntlet ends and find the remaining Primes this project has to offer.
Next up: Nine days til Team Egg Roll hauls past Rage3d on the long march toward the top of the Folding at Home standings. Then it's after 2CPU and the top 5.
What an exciting time to crunch folks!

After 768 days and 32382 completed tests, TPR-SoB has finally reached 2 P :) We are the 2nd team to reach this milestone, with the 3rd placed team at less than half our total. The past month has been good for us, gaining 163 new members and we are are rapidly gaining on the 1st place team, AnandTech, although the overtake date is still some months away. With the production through the gauntlet, we hope to reduce this overtake date.
Just a reminder, the 'Midsummer Daydreaming Gauntlet' kicks off on the 1st of June and it's not too late to join a subteam and have some fun. You can find more information in the <a href=http://episteme.arstechnica.com/eve/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=50009562&f=122097561&m=654006414631>TPR-SOB Gauntlet Thread

TPR-SOB is running a "Midsummer Daydreaming" Gauntlet commencing on June 1. For those who are unaware of the role of a gauntlet, it is simply a race of sorts to help increase the TPR-SOB team's production. There will be a number of sub-teams and the sub- teams combined production competes against each other. The "Midsummer Daydreaming" Gauntlet runs for 3 weeks, till the 21st of June. All current, past and potential members are invited to participate. You don't have to be a regular member of TPR-SOB, all we ask is that you run "Seventeen or Bust" for TPR-SOB for the duration of the gauntlet. Come and <a href=http://episteme.arstechnica.com/eve/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=50009562&f=122097561&m=654006414631>sign up in the Gauntlet Thread and pledge your allegiance to either: The Rolling Stones, THAWN, Undead Computing or The Dogs of War. Each of these sub-teams have their own history within Ars Technica's Distributed Computing folklore and, without doubt, current member's of these teams will try and 'persuade' you that their team is the most worthy of your patronage. The added benefit of this is that if you don't like any of those teams, you are quite welcome to start your own and recruit like mad. The more participants, the merrier, as we all have a common goal, reclaiming 1st.

All of us at TPR-SOB would like to extend a warm welcome to our new members, all 86 of you as at the last update. With your help, we are already starting to claw back the lead that AnandTech has over us. If you would like to introduce yourself to the rest of the team or have any problems, you can always find other team members in our <a href=http://episteme.arstechnica.com/eve/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=50009562&f=122097561&m=595002957231>TPR-SOB Home Thread

After a series of setbacks since the Halloween Gauntlet, including losing 1st to Anandtech, TPR-SOB has started to claw it's way back. Thanks to a combination of new faces, along with some old, our daily production is now at parity with Anandtech's. For prospective members, a few boxes in this small project can make a real difference to our team's production and put us back in the hunt for 1st.To all of our new members, welcome aboard and good luck on finding that Prime.

TPR-SoB seems to have risen from it's slumber to once again be a contender for first place in the project. With the arrival of new members (most notably Flawed), an increase in production from top10 members (edwpang, mattbots and MyCat) and the return of dormant top 3 (Hadesau, DSheets and endlessmike).
This boost in production has not gone unnoticed. AnandTech's top members have decided to meet the challenge. This promises to be an interesting battle in the near future.

Last year the Seventeen or bust project found 4 primes within a few short weeks. After almost a year without results and quite a few issues with both the server and the client the project badly needed some good news.
The latest prime was found by Randy48 of extremeDC fame last week, it took a week to confirm that 5359•2^5054502+1 is indeed prime.
Congratulations to Randy and the project.

Team Prime Rib - Seventeen Or Bust reached the <FONT color=red>700 T cEMs mark at 12.50 EST today 4th October . This looks very good for the ongoing gauntlet and should put the team comfortably in front of Anandtech by the end of the gauntlet.

Congrats on all the hard work to finally reach the 600 TcEMs barrier!
Although TPR-SoB is still number one in Total Production, Anandtech is certainly closing the gap.
As Tom the Melaniephile says " We are within striking distance of Anantech in the dailies..." so keep those boxen crunching!
